Students Utilize New Outdoor Classroom

Abby Haldorson’s vision of having an outdoor classroom “in the round’ where students could collaborate came to fruition in November. Abby and her fellow classmates in Mrs. Donnelly’s 6th hour entrepreneurship class were able to utilize the space, white boards and markers to engage in class activities and collaborate on project ideas.

Joseph Production Receives Outstanding Achievement Among other Honors

Hill-Murray’s Theatre program has participated in the Hennepin Theatre Trust’s Spotlight Education once again this year. Spotlight Education honors high school productions and students by formally recognizing the extraordinary achievements and process of developing young artists, onstage and offstage, in our state’s high school theater programs. They support participating programs and artists by providing high-quality learning, performing and creative experiences for students to develop and empower the next generation of innovative leaders. Hill-Murray’s Production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was submitted as one of the two possible shows Spotlight will come in and evaluate during a school year. This production received an Outstanding Achievement in Musical Theatre among other honors, including several student honorable mentions, shoutouts, outstanding performance and outstanding leadership awards. Although this award is objective in many ways, we are always open and proud to receive amazing feedback that will continue to allow us to grow as individuals and a program. Congratulations to our all of our cast and crew who helped make another Hill-Murray Theatre production a success.
