Homecoming is Here!

Patrick Phelan andZach LaBeaux are Semifinalists in the 2022 National Merit Scholarship Program and have the opportunity to continue in the competition.  There are 16,000 Semifinalists in the nation this year and about half of them will become Finalists and receive Merit Scholarship awards.

What are the chances of getting a National Merit Scholarship?
Roughly 1.5 million high school juniors take the PSAT/NMSQT in the fall and about 50,000 of those students qualify for a scholarship. That means only 3% of the test takers will qualify. From that group, winners will be chosen based on their skills, extracurriculars and potential for success in college and beyond.

Another way to say this: Of the 16 million college bound students in the US on any given year, about one half of one percent of that 16 million receive a National Merit Scholarship.

To continue in the competition both Zach and Patrick will complete an application that shows their outstanding academic record, a recommendation from a teacher, an essay, and an ACT or SAT score to uphold the results of the PSAT.

We are extremely proud of Zach and Patrick and wish them well in this competition!
