H-M Happenings (February 3, 2023)

Care Bags for the Homeless

The past two weeks, Peer Ministry partnered with Middle School students and English teachers to gather items for people experiencing homelessness. This week, students gathered to assemble more than 150 care bags filled with basic need and food items. Throughout this activity, students were empowered to live out their faith by helping those in need and recognizing the dignity of each person. Students, teachers, and staff are invited to stop by the Campus Ministry office and pick up bags to keep in their cars to give to homeless people they encounter. Catholic Schools Week

This week we joined Catholic schools around the country in celebrating the gift of Catholic education! Inspiring students to find their calling and tap into their passion and purpose is the pathway to transforming the world.

We started the week with an all school Mass, which is one of the most important things we do as a Catholic school. Each day, students learned fun facts about Catholic education, they participated in a medallion hunt and dressed for out of uniform theme days!

We want to say thank you to the faculty and staff for saying “yes” to the vocational call to guide and support young people, and a special thank you to parents for choosing Catholic education for your children.

Blackfeet De La Salle School Mission Trip

A group of staff and students are currently on mission in Browning, Montana at Blackfeet De La Salle School. The students have had seven days of immersion within the community and have heard from multiple speakers about what it’s like to grow up on the reservation. They have spent the majority of their time teaching students in 4th and 5th grade on every subject while also helping them navigate often unstable home lives. The impact of our students shepherding students of Blackfeet De La Salle School through their day has been deep and transformational to the core.
