Learn more about the strategic direction of the school and its Believe. Belong. Be Bold Comprehensive Campaign. As we look to raise $40 Million in the next five years, a timely priority will be adding to the campus footprint with an expanded student union and wellness/athletics studio. Specifically the Student Union, will offer enhanced learning opportunities, dining spaces, and community gathering amenities. To greenlight the ground-breaking for a 2025-25 opening, we need to raise in cash or pledges $4 million by June 1, 2024. We are nearly there—thanks for your consideration!

We invite you to schedule an in-person “campus campaign tour.” Click here to schedule a tour. Everyone is welcome for these informational sessions! Or contact Chris Zupfer in the Advancement Office at czupfer@hill-murray.org or office tel:  651-748-2402 for more information.

Computer Graphics 2 Students Thank TRAKR & HM Alumnus for Real-World Design Projects

Mr. Dahl and his Computer Graphics 2 students would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Shane Simpson and Ryan Carpenter of TRAKR, as well as Nikita Dolbilov ’12, and Colleen Cicalello ’05 of Dorothy Ann Bakery and Cafe for donating their time to be their clients. All these projects provided valuable, real-world experience, and the students are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to these exciting ventures.

Shane and Ryan, who created the TRAKR app to help hunters and trackers work together, needed assistance with creating social media posts to promote their app. Students had a great learning experience developing graphics to meet their clients’ design needs.

Nikita, who is starting a new business called Our Castle, needed report cover sheet designs. The Middle School students rose to the challenge and created designs Nikita could use.

Colleen needed help with creating social media posts and new menu designs for Dorothy Ann Bakery and Cafe. Students created designs for Colleen to use.

Spring Art Show Awards

The artist reception for the Spring Art Show at St. Paul’s Monastery was packed on Wednesday, May 15th. Congratulations to the juried art prize winners: Tristan Rodriguez, who won 1st place; Delaney Owsley, who won 2nd place; and Sophia Matara, who won 3rd place. Congratulations also to Violet Bradshaw, Lylah Largent, Talia Bowers, Cam Hinshon, Tessa Linden, Zach Schmidt, Kiera Whitcomb, Avery Rossow, Sophia Proulx, Gabriella Matthiesen, and Maddie Longtin for receiving honorable mentions!

Hill-Murray students, parents, staff, and alumni are invited to join St. Paul’s Monastery for a prayer walk (pilgrimage) through the Priory Preserve just across Larpenteur. This 1.5 mile walk has the feel of stations of the cross: there are 12 ecological interest points and pilgrims will stop at each to pray, read from scripture, the Rule of St. Benedict, and Pope Francis’ letter on the environment (Laudato Si’). The pilgrimage ends at Hill-Murray’s outdoor classroom for reflection on the experience.

We will begin with 8:00 AM morning prayer with the Sisters and then the prayer walk through the Priory Preserve. At 11:30 AM, all are invited to join the Sisters for their Founding Day Mass celebrating 76 years as a Monastery and a cookout on the beautiful grounds of the Monastery.

PSAT Testing for Juniors: Fall of 2024

Hill-Murray will be offering the computer based PSAT/NMSQT to junior students next school year on Wednesday, October 23rd at 8:00 AM. This day is planned to be a late start, but students will need to arrive at school at 7:30 AM on this day. This PSAT test is a predictor of how a student will do on the SAT and is the qualifying exam for the National Merit Scholarship Competition. This is not a college entrance exam. Over 1.6 million high school students take the PSAT exam each year, and less than 1% advance in this competition.

If you intend for your student to take the PSAT, please email Jen O’Gary at jogary@hill-murray.org by Monday, June 3rd so exams can be ordered. If Jen does not hear from you, we will assume your student will not take the PSAT. In addition, you must notify us at the time you commit to taking the PSAT test if your child has an Academic Achievement Plan and will be requesting testing accommodations. Counselors will submit all testing accommodation requests, and the College Board will determine accommodation eligibility and approval. Please inform us of any requests in your response to this email.

If you have any questions about the PSAT, please call or email your student’s counselor.
