Find Your Calling: Olivia Munro discovers her passion in robotics and the sciences

At Hill-Murray, we help our students find their calling, whatever it may be. From daily classes, athletics, clubs, and programs to other student-led initiatives, our students are discovering their paths each day. Through our new campaign called Find Your Calling, we get to know our Pioneers and discover what inspires them.

Olivia Munro, 11th grader

What subjects most interest you?

My favorite subjects are math, science, STEM, and history.

Does Hill-Murray help you explore those interests?

H-M gave me the opportunity to figure out what my interests are and learn more about them. For example, over the summer H-M provided me with the resources to take an AI class.

Are you involved in any athletics or extracurricular activities? What do you enjoy about these opportunities?

I am involved mainly in robotics (FTC and FRC). Robotics is a real-world application to skills that I have learned in classes including math, computer science, English, French, science, and student technologist. Similarly, I am involved in several other coding events/competitions.

Finally, what does finding your calling mean to you?

To me, finding your calling means finding something that you are passionate about, consistently get excited about, and are inspired to learn more about on your own. H-M has sparked my interest in programming and science and given me the opportunities to pursue those interests.
