Hill-Murray Wind Ensembles

Hill-Murray offers six wind ensembles and one music study class

We are builders of school spirit and active participants in our community. We are inclusive and recognize that each student is unique and has gifts to share that can benefit the whole musical ensemble. Our students are supported with individualized and differentiated instruction to elevate and develop their musicianship. We accept all students and all experience levels.

  • Middle School Band

    Available for grade 6-8 and during the school day.

  • Concert Band and CIS Concert Band

    Available for grades 9-10 and during the school day.

    CIS is available for grade 10 with college credit through the MN state system via Central Lakes.

  • Symphonic Band and CIS Symphonic Band

    Available for grades 11-12 and during the school day.

    CIS is available for grades 11-12 with college credit through the MN state system via Central Lakes.

  • Pep Band

    Available for grades 9-12 and made up of members of Concert and Symphonic Band. Rehearsals are during the band classes.

  • Marching Band

    Available for grades 9-12 and made up of members of Concert and Symphonic Band. Rehearsals are during the band classes. 

  • Jazz Band

    A co-curricular available for grades 8-12. Students do not have to be in a band class to be in the jazz band.  Rehearsals are before school twice per week. 

  • Silverwinds Flute Choir

    A premier ensemble that has been invited to perform at events such as the Upper Midwest Flute Association Showcase and places like the Walker Art Center in downtown Minneapolis. This group is open to grades 6-12 but currently has a waiting list until the end of the school year. Beginners through advanced students are welcome and parts are scaffolded to meet students where they are at.

  • Clarinet Choir

    Available for grades 6-12. Beginners through advanced students are welcome and parts are scaffolded to meet students where they are.

Other Ensembles and Performing Opportunities

We are active in the community and participate in music for open houses, the annual auction, arts shows, masses, prayer services, and more. We also have additional ensembles throughout the year.

Performing Trips

We performed at the Pearl Harbor Memorial Commemoration in Honolulu, HI in December 2022. We look for opportunities for transformational learning that includes musical growth, cultural experiences, and learning opportunities in other disciplines.
