Helmet Blessings and Team Prayer

Every year since Sr. Linda has been the spiritual coach for the boys varsity football team, they have had a Blessing of the Helmets before the first game. The helmets are blessed for the safety of each player, and for the strengthening of team spirit fostering Christian values. Sr. Linda asks all teams to be an amplified Bible in action when playing. St. Benedict pray for us…St. John Baptist DeLasalle…Pray for us, so that in all things God may be glorified! Click here for the Blessing of Helmets prayer.

Liftoff 2022

Mrs. Babich had the pleasure of attending a professional development put on by NASA’s Texas Space Grant. She experienced presentations by NASA scientists and engineers, hands-on, inquiry based classroom activities aligned to educational standards, and had opportunities to interact with researchers dedicated to space missions. She was able to connect with teachers from all over the country. The pictures included are of Mrs. Babich and Astronaut Fred Haise {he was one of the astronauts on Apollo 13} as well as Mrs. Babich in front of the Orion capsule at the Space Vehicle Mockup Facility. Astronauts use these mockups to train as they are preparing for the next generation to travel to the moon {Artemis Mission}. She feels so blessed to have had this opportunity- and can’t wait to share her experiences with her students!

First Week of School Helpers!

The start of a school year is busy for teachers as they try to get organized – especially new teachers! Thank you to the 9th grade students who helped sort stickers for Ms. Solid, a new English teacher at Hill-Murray. The students were willing to step up without a moment’s hesitation. This is one more thing Ms. Solid is adding to her growing list of why she’s happy to be here at Hill-Murray this year.

Adoration

Hill-Murray parents are invited to participate in the spiritual practice of Adoration, which is held in the Hill-Murray Chapel during the school day typically on the first Friday of each month. Dates for the first semester are September 9, October 14, December 4 and January 2.

Adoration refers to the time when the Blessed Sacrament (the consecrated host) is placed on the altar and the faithful spend time with Jesus in the Chapel in quiet prayer and reflection.

At Hill-Murray you are invited to attend Mass at 7:20am on days of Adoration and are welcome to sign up for a time to stay in the Chapel in prayer.

Our first day of Adoration is Friday, September 9, 2022. CLICK HERE to sign up.
