Alpine Ski Team with Strong Showing at Sections
The Hill-Murray Ski Team continued its successful season with a strong showing in the Section 4 Alpine Ski Meet held on February 8th at Wild Mountain.
The boys team finished fourth overall while the girls team won the section championship for the third straight year. The girls qualified for the state meet as a team and two boys and three girls earned a trip to state as individuals. The State Meet will be held on February 14th at Giants Ridge in Biwabik.
“It was quite a skiing demonstration by the Hill-Murray Ski Team (at the Section Meet),” Hill-Murray Alpine Ski coach Don Shipp said. “All twelve of our skiers finished the course. And the season continues now to the big show.”
Skiers Austin Mjanger and Owen Wendorf qualified for the State Meet. Mjanger was 6th overall while Wendorf was 10th.

2.Stillwater: 420 points
3.Hastings: 419.5 points
4.Hill-Murray: 397 points

Meantime, congratulations to Kate Reardon, who placed first overall, and Taylor Voigt, who finished right behind Reardon in second place. Natalie Humbert was 5th, Hailey Voigt 9th, Greta Stanek 15th and Liz Peroutka was 22nd.
Reardon, Taylor Voigt, Humbert, Hailey Voigt and Stanek, all qualified for state as individuals.
