H-M Creates Community Connections that Last a Lifetime

Dear Hill-Murray Community,

Everything I’ve experienced at Hill-Murray has shown me that this community is about lifetime connections. You can’t help but fall in love with the warm, inclusive and welcoming environment that was on full display all week.

Last Saturday’s Pioneer Premier Auction was a tremendous night for our students and our community. I met generations of families, alums, and supporters – all committed to our mission. All told, we raised nearly $1.2 million! We will invest those dollars directly in our school to attract and support more students, Domayoym Gbolo, whose story personifies our values and inspires us all!

On Wednesday, at the Art Exhibition Opening night, I saw first-hand how our mission makes a difference in the lives of our students. The event was held at the Monastery and hosted by the sisters, who are all so supportive of our students’ creativity, which – by the way – is AMAZING. Check out their work if you can, as the exhibit runs through late May.  Thank you to Sister Jacqueline and our incredible art teachers, Mr. Dahl and Mrs. Hunkins, for your continued commitment to our young and incredibly talented H-M artists.

The week concluded with nearly 450 grandparents visiting our school for our first Grandparents Day in two years! The crowd was amazing, as was Father Paulo, who led the prayer service to kick off the morning. It warmed my heart to see the Grandparents offering a blessing to their grandchildren, and Father Paolo’s words were spot on. I watched in awe as generations of families came through our doors and seemed grateful to spend a couple of hours with their grandkids. I watched as the grandparents beamed with pride. Whether meeting teachers, or roaming the halls – the positive energy was palpable. As I told our grandparents today, You must be so proud because YOUR children chose to send your grandchildren to Hill-Murray. Attending a strong Catholic school is a gift, and for this, we are forever grateful.

The love, the smiles, and the incredible warmth brought to life what makes Hill-Murray a special place. The school feels like home, and our community – young and old –  feels like family.

Like I said, Hill-Murray’s all about connections, new and old, that truly last a lifetime.
