Celebrating Homecoming & Community at Hill-Murray
Dear Hill-Murray Community,
This week, we celebrate HOMECOMING at Hill-Murray! Homecoming is more than just a week of festivities—it’s a deeply meaningful tradition that reflects the heart and spirit of Hill-Murray School. Each year, this special time brings together students, families, alumni, faculty, and friends in celebration of our shared community and enduring PIONEER values.
I had the pleasure of attending the Archbishop Murray Memorial and Hill High School’s Class of 1965 Reunions last week. It’s magical to witness older adults around 78 years old suddenly light up and act as if they were 16 or 17 again, right before your eyes.
They shared stories of freshman year homeroom, science class shenanigans, and the teacher who made such an incredible difference – it was as if time had not passed. We are hard-wired to recall and retell events from our past that brought us joy back in the day. We share laughs that never get old when we retell the story again and again.
At its core, Homecoming is about celebration and connection. It gives current students a chance to witness the legacy they are becoming part of, and it offers alumni a moment to return home, reconnect, and see how the school they love continues to thrive. Watching generations of Pioneers gather—cheering at the game, attending Mass, volunteering, or walking the halls—is a beautiful reminder that the Hill-Murray experience is lifelong. It doesn’t end with senior year graduation.
As President, I am always proud to watch our students and faculty during Homecoming week. Proud of their energy and commitment. Proud of our alumni for their ongoing support. And proud of our entire community for keeping the Hill-Murray tradition alive and strong. Homecoming isn’t just a celebration—it’s a homecoming of the heart.

I hope to see you all at the events this Friday night. Also, be sure and check out today’s GIVE DAY – it’s another opportunity to show your support and encouragement for our Pioneers. It warmed my heart to see this GIVE DAY video featuring Hill-Murray students and teachers. This is why I love this place!
Your generosity and support create opportunities and experiences for our students that will be remembered for a lifetime. Thank you. I hope to see you on campus this Friday – you are always welcome at Hill-Murray!
Sincerely,
