Things I’m Grateful For in 2021

Dear Hill-Murray Community,

This is my final President’s Perspective of the year, and I wanted to take a moment to express my deep gratitude for a few things before we all take a break and spend time with family and friends.

First, we held our annual President’s Dinner on Dec. 4. The event is an opportunity to thank and recognize many of our most committed donors. The turnout was tremendous but not surprising. I say this often, and I’ll say it again: I remain in awe of the generosity of the Hill-Murray community. Your love for the school and passion for our mission makes everything we do for our students possible. We have big plans ahead in 2022 and beyond. I’ll share more soon but know that none of our dreams will be realized without the support of all of you.

Second, our teachers need to be thanked repeatedly for their work and commended for their commitment to our kids, particularly in light of  COVID-19. While we all wish the pandemic was behind us, the Omicron variant has proven we still have challenges ahead. We remain vigilant in monitoring the spread and will continue to balance the positive impact in-person learning has on our students’ mental health while protecting their physical well-being. We published our GreenPrint prior to the new school year and it remains our roadmap for managing the pandemic.

Lastly, I am grateful for the opportunity to lead this wonderful school. As a life-long educator, I promise to hold onto the important traditions that have made Hill-Murray what it is today as I help guide us into the future. The world is demanding more and more of our kids. We must prepare them for success.

From all of us at Hill-Murray,  Merry Christmas and may the New Year bring you peace, joy and happiness.

God Bless

Merry Christmas from our fabulous faculty and staff!
