Honoring the Past and Preserving the Future

Dear Hill-Murray Community,

It’s been a whirlwind two weeks as we celebrated Homecoming, held our second all-school, outdoor Mass (pictured above) and paid tribute to some of our amazing alumni.

We honored members of the 1971 Hill High School CCC championship football team during the Homecoming football game and inducted our newest class into the Hill-Murray Athletics Hall of Fame that same weekend (pictured below).

Featured left to right: Paul Thurmes ‘82, Greg Langevin ‘68, Rod Romanchuk ‘75, Vince Conway ‘71, Tessa Cichy ‘12 and Bethany Doolittle ‘11.

I was in awe of the community feel, the camaraderie on display and the strong connections among alumni. It didn’t matter if they had graduated five, 15 or 50 years ago. The true spirit of the Hill-Murray community was evident everywhere I looked.

Although it’s always fun and nostalgic to celebrate the past, as president, I am also responsible for preserving the future.

And, in October, we have two events that directly impact our school and the experience we provide our students.

Oct. 7th is Give Day!

Give Day is Hill-Murray’s annual day-of-giving event. For 24 hours, the entire Hill-Murray community of alumni, faculty, staff, current and past parents, and friends will come together to support the Hill-Murray Annual Fund.

A cornerstone of our everyday operations, the Annual Fund enables us to provide a rich, transformative education that’s accessible to all students.

Whether you’re passionate about Pioneer athletics, visual and performing arts, financial aid, academics, student activities or faith formation, your H-M Give Day gift will further Hill-Murray’s mission to support each student on their educational journey.

Visit hmgiveday.org THIS THURSDAY (or right now if you’re ready to make your gift!) to join in this celebration of giving. Be sure to follow our progress throughout the day on social media. Sharing H-M Give Day with your friends and family is a powerful way to help us spread the word.

Oct. 18th is the Fall Open House

Our Fall Open House is where we introduce new families to all that H-M has to offer. If you have neighbors, friends, co-workers, or fellow parishioners who you think would fit in well at H-M, forward them this email and tell them to RSVP.

In the end, our formula for success hasn’t changed since Coach Jim Wold (pictured far left) led Hill High School to the undisputed CCC football title 50 years ago.

We attract great families. We provide them with a world-class education, an amazing experience and memories for a lifetime. They simply can’t help but turn into generous alumni.

Let’s continue this wonderful H-M tradition of bringing in new people, giving back to our school and making a difference in the lives of students! It’s the cornerstone of our glorious past and ensures we have a bright future.
