Hill-Murray Joins Global Online Academy to Promote Transformational Learning for our Students and Faculty
Hill-Murray is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with the Global Online Academy (GOA), an international consortium of leading independent schools that offers students and faculty a diverse range of online courses and experiences.
Hill-Murray is the only independent, Catholic school in Minnesota partnering with GOA.
H-M was chosen to join a network of leading independent schools that discover and design new ways to learn, elevate teaching practices, and leverage technology and modern learning skills.
“By partnering with GOA, we will give our students more ways to pursue their passions, learn from peers around the world, and build their critical thinking and leadership skills that will serve them well in college, their career and life,” said Hill-Murray president Melissa Dan.
How does GOA benefit students?
A GOA partnership will allow H-M to expand elective course offerings, learning experiences available to students, and provide them with increased opportunities to broaden their academic horizons, pursue their passions, and discover new subjects which spark their interest, outside of traditional course offerings.
H-M students will benefit from learning with other students from around the world, as well as from increased choices, as they are able to choose exactly which subjects to explore, allowing them to tailor their learning program to the path that most fits them.

GOA also enables our amazing teachers to become part of an expanded network of outstanding independent school educators and to participate in dynamic, ongoing professional development. As members, we can connect our faculty with colleagues around the globe who will share best practices and discuss new ideas that transform classrooms and deepen the learning experience for our students.
Given the shared values around quality teaching and rigorous standards, we know GOA courses maintain the high standards of quality of which we are proud; to that point, students will receive Hill-Murray credit for these classes and they will receive individualized feedback and customized assessments from GOA and Hill-Murray instructors.
Aligned with GO Boldly, H-M’s new strategic plan, H-M will support students on their individual journeys to self-discovery, challenging them to share their experiences and ideas from diverse perspectives and to pursue a range of interests outside of traditional classroom learning.
