Hill-Murray Speaker Series

Dave Eisenmann will be at Hill-Murray on Thursday, September 22 giving presentations on healthy technology use. Students will get a chance to hear from Dave on “Keeping Tech Positive & Healthy” during WIN, and parents and guardians are welcome to come in the evening to hear Dave speak on “Top Tips for Raising Tech Healthy Kids.” This presentation will be offered Thursday, September 22nd at 7pm at Hill-Murray School. Blessing of the Animals -Volunteers Needed!

St. Paul’s Monastery is looking for students, teachers or families to volunteer to provide welcome and hospitality for the Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, October 2nd at 1:00pm on the Monastery grounds.

Volunteer opportunities include:

-General welcome

-Helping with bandanas and medals

-General crowd engagement

-Leading parts of the liturgy

All are welcome to bring their well-mannered pet companions (on leash or in a crate) to receive the blessing of the community. St. Francis Assisi’s feast day is October 4th and this celebration on the Sunday closest to his feast day honors his traditional role as patron of creation and ecology given his passion and love for all God’s creatures.

St. Paul’s Monastery is located in Maplewood off of Century Ave at 2675 Benet Road, Maplewood, MN 55109. Parking is available at the Monastery and along the street.


St. Peter Claver

As a part of the makeover at St. Peter Claver Catholic School, Hill-Murray was able to donate school furniture that was not being used. Check out their beautiful new reception desk from H-M this summer!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Theology Ice Breaker

Fr. Paolo got creative in helping his 9th grade theology students get to know each other. The student in the middle of the circle would say something about themself, and the students who shared that similarity had to move and switch positions in the circle.


Internships for Students

Do you own a small business near Hill-Murray School?  We have 14 business education students who are seeking a local internship for the upcoming 2022 – 2023 school year.  Students will be able to work remotely and could potentially be on site.  Students would be able to help with: 

  • Writing social media drafts / posts 
  • Writing drafts for website updates 
  • Creating documents using word processing or spreadsheet software 
  • Light filing 
  • Setting up for events 
  • Conducting research and more! 

Students would be available 3-4 days a week for about 1 hour per day.

Depression Awareness/Suicide Prevention Resources Available to all H-M Families

The H-M Guidance & Counseling Department is here to support your child’s overall well-being. Our team works with students in three specific domains: personal/social, academic, and post-secondary/career development. Mental health is key to overall health. We want to make you aware of an online resource available to all families. The Signs of Suicide (S.O.S.) suicide prevention program can be found HERE.

Topics/resources available include: spot the signs, take the screening, watch the videos, talk to your child, and parent materials. The screen is anonymous and not meant to be diagnostic. Please take a few minutes to review the information available.

Next Wednesday! Mother’s Club Fall Kick-Off & Social

Calling all Hill-Murray moms, stepmoms or guardians! You are invited to the Mothers Club Fall Kick-off Meeting & Social on Wednesday, September 21 from 6:30-8:00pm in the Hill-Murray Staff Lounge. This is an opportunity to learn more about the Mothers Club over light appetizers and refreshments, connect with other Hill-Murray moms and have an opportunity to sign up to help with future events like Homecoming, Admissions Open Houses, Teacher Appreciation Week, other involvement opportunities.
