Cross Country
Hill-Murray Cross Country is not just about running.
Hill-Murray Cross Country (HMXC) is an inclusive sport with no cuts, meaning there’s a place for everyone on the team. Whether you consider yourself a competitive runner, want to improve your running for another sport, or just want to give it a try, we are excited to coach you. With our talented coaching staff, student-athletes receive invaluable one-on-one attention, allowing coaches to tailor workouts to suit all types of runners.
We are fortunate to be surrounded by numerous places to run, giving student-athletes the opportunity to train on dirt trails instead of busy roads.
Cross country emphasizes the development of discipline, self-awareness, goal-setting, and teamwork. Runners engage in a training program that is individually tailored to their skill levels, challenging them mentally and physically to improve throughout the season. The HMXC program also helps runners gain a deeper understanding of themselves—learning when to push their pace and go the extra mile, as well as when to balance and moderate their efforts. Student-athletes track their progress through participation in meets, competing individually and as a team against other schools at a high level.
Note: In-season meet calendar and training information will be included in the HMXC Weekly Updates link.
