Transportation
Several transportation options are available for students and their families.
1. Driving to school Some families with students who are old enough to drive decide that this option is appropriate to meet their needs. However, families should know that parking at Hill-Murray is limited. Student parking permits for the school lot are offered at a cost of $150 each, and distributed to seniors first, then juniors and so on. Priority is also given to students who hold jobs after school. Please note, however, that there are many more applicants than spaces and some students may need to park on Larpenteur Avenue (no fee) on the south side of the campus. Contact H-M Dean of Students, Ms. Barbato (651-748-2423), with questions about parking permits.
2. Car Pooling Many Hill-Murray families choose to carpool each morning and/or afternoon. For help in connecting with a family in your area who may also be interested in carpooling, contact Terri Beran in the Hill-Murray Business Office (651-748-2496).
3. Busing To contract for busing, consult the routes below. Then download and print out the Transportation Request Form and mail to: Hill-Murray School, Attention: Business Office. A deposit check of $50 is required for routes outside of ISD#622.
For Students Living in ISD #622 By state law, students who live in Independent School District #622 and are more than 1.5 miles away from Hill-Murray School (Maplewood/North St. Paul/Oakdale—the district in which Hill-Murray is located) are eligible to receive free transportation to Hill-Murray. See below for District #622 routes and times.
On August 15, 2008 ISD # 622 posted route schedules on their web page. This is located at www.ISD622.org. ISD # 622 will continue to provide transportation services for our families that live within this district boundary. Your student will be picked up at his/her designated stop and brought directly to Hill-Murray school in the morning. The following steps will assist in confirming the route time and pick up point for your student:
FOR MORNING ROUTES: Please go to www.isd622.org Click on district information on the menu on the left of the page Then choose transportation/bus routes Next choose find your child’s school bus route Finally scroll down to non public schools and click on Hill-Murray
Morning routes come directly to Hill-Murray with no transfer to another bus.
FOR AFTERNOON ROUTES (Beginning Fall 2008): Afternoon routes will shuttle students to Tartan or North High Schools, before resuming the normal routes to neighborhoods. Your student will make a transfer at the high school and ride home with the students from each location. You may confirm the route number to which your student will be transferring by following the above listed instructions (ISD #622 website) with one exception. Instead of selecting “non public schools…” please choose “High School Schedules,” then select the high school your student would attend if you were attending a public high school in the district instead of attending Hill-Murray. Morning routes are the only schedules posted. However, after the transfer to another bus, the morning routes (though not the times, of course)remain the same for the afternoon schedule, but in reverse order.
If you have questions regarding the status of your bus in bad weather, or if the bus is considerably late, please phone Mr. Terry Wasiluk at 651-770-4764. He will advise the status of the bus en route. If you no longer require transportation and wish to have your name removed from the route schedule, please leave me a message at 651-748-2496.
Be sure to check route times, particularly on days when one of the schools is not in session, either with the Hill-Murray Business Office or by visiting the ISD #622 (www.isd622.org). There are several days during the year when Hill-Murray’s school calendar does not coincide with that of District #622. On these days ISD #622 will continue to provide normal transportation. Click here to see the schedule of related dates.
For Hill-Murray Students Living Outside of District #622 Boundaries Students may also contract for busing for areas that include St. Paul, White Bear Lake, Woodbury, Cottage Grove, Stillwater and other communities. Please use the route link for details. There is a fee of $800 per student per year for all busing routes outside of District #622.
For students living in ISD #833 (Woodbury, Cottage Grove, etc.), please note that when District 833 is not in session, parents must provide their own transportation to and from Woodbury Elementary School, to connect with the Hill-Murray bus. For dates when ISD #833 is not in session (and Hill-Murray is in session) click here.

If your bus does not show up on time, or in the event of bad weather please phone Monarch Bus Service at 651-251-8080. Ask for Steve LaTour to determine status of bus en route. |
