Band Course Offerings
   Hill-Murray offers many more band classes than most schools and we offer music classes for Honors and AP students!  Each of our band courses meets for one class period every school day.  Middle schools students receive small group sectionals during their study hall.  High school students receive small group sectionals during their regularly scheduled band period.  Our students participate in honor bands, All-Conference Band, Solo/Ensemble Contests, large group band competitions, jazz festivals, and perform at the Target Center, Xcel Energy Center, and the Mall of America.  We also travel and participate in many other fun and educational opportunitites.  Most important, we are one big "band family" that has fun, works hard, and plays well.  

         Middle School Band (Grades 7-8)
         Concert Band (Grades 9-12)
         Symphonic Band (Advanced, Grades 9-12)
         AP Music Theory (Advanced Placement, Grades 11-12)
         Honors Symphonic Band (College Prep, Grades 11-12)


Student Leadership
There are multiple opportunities for student leadership in the band program.  Some leadership positions are chosen by the Directors and others are chosen by the band students.  All positions have been filled for the 2011-2012 school year except drum majors.
