Peer Listening

Peer Listeners meet with fellow students who would like to talk confidentially about school, personal or interpersonal issues. All sophomores and juniors are eligible to become Peer Listeners.  The process begins the first week of March each year with student nominations followed by written applications and interviews. Twenty students are then selected after completion of this thorough process, which also includes teacher references.

The Peer Listeners begin an intensive training program each spring with an overnight immersion retreat into Peer Listening. Students may request a Peer Listener through the P.E.E.R. Center and Mrs. Jamieson or through Counseling Services.

The students who are learning and working as Peer Listeners for the 2007-2008 school year include seniors and juniors:
Matt Alveshere, Janey Atchison, Eric Buron, Taylor Cross, Liz Drehmel, Carl Gilbertson, Charlie Hamm, Beth Hanson, Ben Honda, Connor Jorgenson, Natalie Keeley, Hannah Latz, Meg McConnel, Peter McKeown, Katie Nelson, Lauren Ott, Clare Scherping, Caitlyn Schmid, Katie Sheehan, Noah Simmet, Nicole Stumpf, Jodi Vasko
