We prepare our 6th, 7th and 8th grade students academically, spiritually and emotionally for the rigors of our high school program. These three years are a time of exploration and discovery and are spent helping each student transition from their grade schools to the Hill-Murray culture. Focus is placed on filling in the academic gap between what they know and what they will need to know to find success at Hill-Murray. We provide enrichment, as well as support based on the needs of each student.
In addition to required courses, middle school students will take two to four electives each semester.
Middle School students are required to participate in Advisory, Hill-Murray's faith-based character growth and development program. Advisory meets daily before lunch and focuses on Christian Values, Community, Integrity and Leadership. See our middle school course directory for more information.
Math placement for incoming students is determined by the Math Department. The decision is based on placement exam scores, previous teacher recommendations, prior coursework, grades and other factors. Math placement for returning students is determined by that student’s current year’s progress and current teacher recommendations.
