The best way for you to experience our campus and, most importantly, our community, is to visit! We have several opportunities for you to learn more about Hill-Murray by spending time on campus.
Parent Observation Days
Would you like to be able to sit in on the classes your child will be taking as an incoming student? To further enrich your journey to becoming a Pioneer family, we are offering Parent Observation days where you can come and get a taste of what our students experience daily. Please plan on arriving between 7:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. through the Main Entrance. A light breakfast will be provided. After breakfast, from 7:50 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., you will be able to observe our Math, Science, English, and Religion classes. If you wish to see any other classes beyond that, please specify and we can make arrangements beyond the scheduled observation day. The two dates in which you can do this are Thursday, March 9th and Monday, April 27th from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m..
Prospective Student Movie Night
Please join us on Thursday, March 23rd in the Hill-Murray Auditorium from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for our Prospective Student Movie Night. This is a great way to meet some new friends. We will have snacks for you to enjoy and will be watching Queen of Katwe (click here for trailer). So, sit back, relax, and come enjoy an evening of fun with your new classmates.
Families are welcome to schedule a tour of Hill-Murray. Tours are available most school days by appointment. Tours are typically one hour and are recommended during the school day hours of 7:40 a.m- 2:10 p.m. To schedule a tour, contact Ben Belde in the Admissions Office at 651-748-2406.
Prospective Student Visits
The best way for a prospective student to experience Hill-Murray School is to spend a school day as our guest. We are happy to offer several options for students to visit depending on what you are looking for in a visit day experience. Please read the options below and decide what works best for your family.
A Day of Your Choosing
Visitors benefit by seeing the H-M community on a "typical" day of their choosing. Prospective students are invited to spend a day at Hill-Murray on days that Hill-Murray is in session on a regular schedule. Please contact us with a date that would work well for your student.
Visit Day Details
The visit day begins at 7:30 am and ends at 2:15 pm. Prospective students will follow their host's schedule, enjoy a complimentary lunch in our awesome cafeteria, and meet teachers and other students throughout the day.
Your child may request his/her host or you may provide us with your child's interests (favorite courses, hobbies, activities, sports, etc.), and we will select a student host who shares common interests in academics and activities.
At H-M, we work hard to ensure that your student's day fits his/her needs and interests. Therefore, we request 48 hour advance notice to schedule a visit so that we can prepare the best possible experience for your student.
To schedule a visit, please contact Ben Belde at 651-748-2406.
Please call the Admissions Office at 651-748-2406 or email Ben Belde to schedule a visit. Calls and emails must be made by parents/guardians and must be received at least 48 hours in advance of the visit. When you schedule the visit, please let the Admissions team know a few of the guest's interests and any special requests that you have.
The Admissions team will happily match you with a student in the grade that you are going into that has similar interests. If you know someone in particular that you would like to go with, that works too!
You should enter through the main front doors at 7:30 AM, where you will be greeted and brought to the Admissions Office. Your host will meet you in the Admissions Office. The day concludes at 2:15 PM. Students may be picked up in the Admissions Office at that time.
You may dress casually. Jeans are allowed. Visiting students are expected to follow our H-M student dress code of neat, clean and modest.
No need to worry about preparing a lunch or sending money - we have you convered!
The Admissions team will provide with you with a visit booklet with fun activities to do throughout the day. If you would like to bring a book with you to read, you are welcome to do so. Note that all cell phones are to be turned off and put away during the day. If you need to make a phone call, you may do so in the Admissions Office at any time.
