Hello and welcome! We are so pleased that you are interested in becoming part of the Hill-Murray community. Hill-Murray School, the Catholic Benedictine Prep School, is a fully accredited, co-educational, college preparatory school offering international students a chance to experience American education. What we look for in our international students is a focused desire to learn and a passion to experience another culture. Our international students have a rigorous academic schedule, but we also encourage participation in extra curricular activities such as sports, music and the arts! The TOEFL exam is required for all applicants so that we may establish English proficiency (we do not offer ESL courses).

In addition to the above admission application, international students must complete a recent English proficiency test. Hill-Murray School does not offer any English as a Second Language (ESL) courses. Proficiency in the English language is essential to academic success at Hill-Murray. Students should be able to read, write, and understand English well enough to participate in all school activities. If you are not a native English speaker, you must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam. To be accepted at Hill-Murray, students must possess an academic record of C average or higher and will need to show the equivalent of the following scores:
- 500 on the paper-based TOEFL; or
- 173 on the computer-based TOEFL; or
- 61 on the internet-based TOEFL.

Hill-Murray does not offer any boarding programs. Also, international students are required to find their own host family. Hill-Murray will not be responsible for any financial obligations related to international students.
Hill-Murray School assumes that international students and their families will take full responsibility for financing their education. Students should not plan to receive any financial assistance from Hill-Murray. Due to the reliance upon third party data such as tax returns, W-2’s, and other financial data, Hill-Murray could not assume that other countries provide such information to their citizens. In addition, we cannot expect that our third party analyzing company, TADS, would be fluent in other languages or other countries' financial reporting customs.
