Hill-Murray School Overview

The Catholic, college preparatory, coeducational school for grades 7-12, serving the east metro and St. Croix valley areas for 50 years.

You will be known. When we ask people outside of our school what they think of when they hear “Hill-Murray,” the most common answer is “rigorous academics’’ or “really hard classes.’’ The academic bar for Hill-Murray students is, indeed, high. And, we make no apologies. Our students are serious about their studies, about preparing for success in college and about defining their place in the world beyond school. The culture at Hill-Murray is structured and disciplined. Our students thrive on that culture. As a Hill-Murray student, you will be part of that high-achieving academic community that is known throughout the Twin Cities and beyond. You will also be known within that community. Fellow students, teachers, coaches and our chaplain will know your name. They’ll get to know what classes you have and what your hobbies are. And, if you’re having a bad day, chances are, someone’s going to notice. Don’t be surprised if someone lays a hand on your shoulder, asks for a high-five or shoots you a “you okay?’’ as you’re walking down the hall. At Hill-Murray, we care about each other. We’re here for one another. You won’t be alone. You will be known.

You will be loved. You won’t just grow academically. At Hill-Murray, students of all beliefs are invited to grow in faith.  Everything we do is connected to our deep Catholic roots. We practice and celebrate all the wonders of the original Church. We work daily to pay homage to the Benedictine way of life, which includes simplicity, frugality, social justice and making meaningful connections with members of the world outside our walls. The many ways in which we serve our community – the poor, sick, hungry and homeless – allows us to serve God and show our love for Him. We know He already loves all of us. But, it’s working within that communion of love that teaches us all that we can always love harder, deeper and bigger than we imagined. It doesn’t take Hill-Murray students long to learn that the more love they give, the more love they receive.  At Hill-Murray, you will be loved.
