Jazz Band
Jazz Band is a co-curricular music ensemble that meets outside the school day. Members of the Jazz Band will be chosen in the fall through the audition process. The definition of a jazz band is typically one on a part with the following standard instrumentation: alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, baritone saxophone, trumpet, trombone, bass trombone, piano, bass, guitar, and drum set. Performances will be scheduled based on attendance and group progress. The jazz band will be performing at multiple events over the course of the school year and will attend the Region 4AA Jazz Festival and the Region 4AA Jazz Band Contest. Students can typically expect to miss two partial days of school for these Regional events.
The jazz band rehearses most Thursdays from 6:30am-7:25am. The jazz band also holds improvisation and "jam" sessions on most Tuesdays starting at 2:30pm.
