Cross-Country
Cross Country is a fall sport open to any boy or girl in grades 7-12. There are no cuts. Everyone who is interested in cross country running makes the team. The teams compete in the Classic Suburban Conference. In 2011, we had 42 Cross Country Athletes on our team; 22 boys and 20 girls. Several All-Conference and All-Conference Honorable Mention athletes return from last season. We expect to run well this season.
The Head Coach in our program is Tim Ryan, who is looking forward to his 33rd year of Hill Murray Cross Country coaching (37th year in coaching at Hill-Murray). Coach Ryan has always said, "nothing is better than training on a cool, crisp autumn afternoon.''
Our Assistant Cross Country Coach, Rebekah Frank, comes to us every day from William Mitchell Law School. Coach Frank was a National Qualifier on the University of St. Thomas Track Team under legendary Coach Joe Sweeney. You might have met Coach Frank at a Hill-Murray Track Meet. She was an outstanding assistant coach for the Hill-Murray Track Program. Coach Frank says, "a habit of determination is the only way to keep improving.''
