Through science classes at Hill-Murray, you’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of the physical and biological sciences. After you’ve mastered the basics, you’ll have the opportunity to explore advanced topics. We encourage you to be a life-long science learner, using your knowledge and talents to make a positive impact on the world.
Science classes in middle school are all about exploration – you’ll begin building important science skills, using the scientific method, learning about measurement and working with math conversions. Middle school classes include Science & Engineering, Life Science and Earth & Space Science. Attending an environmental learning camp at Deep Portage and the annual middle school science fair are highlights of the year for seventh and eighth graders.
Science classes in high school are rigorous and comprehensive. You’ll begin with Physical Science in ninth grade and Biology in tenth grade. In both classes, you’ll explore scientific principles through hands-on experiments, discussion, projects and teamwork. Following tenth grade, you’ll have a variety of options including Chemistry, Anatomy/Physiology, Physics, and Biotechnology. Honors level and College In the School (CIS) classes are available beginning in tenth grade.
